The Giant Swing
The nervous , wide-eyed girls clung to each other as the ladder rattled away on the rocky dirt. As the ropes started to pull them up, butterflies formed. They were approaching the top and could now see the sway of the trees and the creepy dead-looking cememtery in the distance. She bravely reached up and softly tugged on the drop rope. Nothing happened and they started to panic. In one quick movement the frayed tight rope was yanked and they were on a never ending free fall. The sweaty blue harness clattered against the tight ripes and they swung. High pitched screams could be heard but then it all turned to massive smiles and laughter. Maddison Lockyer.
The giant swing
As I looked down at all my group members they were pulling a rope to make Ayden and I go up. I had so much pain from the harness. We finally made it to the top of the giant swing , ready to fly around helplessly. We were clicked in and ready to go. We counted down to pull a green rope. 3.2.1..PULL. We tried one time, a second time and a third time. Finally we went flying over the lake and then fell right back down . It was so fun but painful. We had a great time but wished AJ had grabbed us quicker.
Some of the other highlights of the camp were abseiling . When we were 30 metres high climbing down a wall it was so fun and scary. We also did a monster course which is when you and your group go around a course getting wet , crawling thorugh tyres as well as jumping into a mud pit. There were a load of other activities- it was so fun and it was a great way to help everyone in your group and have a fun time. The food was amazing- we had many amazing meals- they were so yum. Thankyou to the Summit Camp for giving us this awesome time at your camp.
