Sport Results

Rugby

Victorian State Final - NRL Rugby 9’S- Junior Boys

Game 1 - Lost to The Grange 4-20.

Game 2 - def Alamanda 12-8

Semi Final - v hot favourites and very imposing Mt Ridley. We tied the game and scored a try in extra time to win 16-12. Very high standard game and the crowd (and players) went right off at the incredible finish and how the last try was scored with us working extremely hard via multiple attempts to get the ball through their wall and over the line.

State Grand Final - v The GRANGE. We worked hard but basically played out final in the semi. We improved the earlier result to go down 16-8. Really proud of our boys effort especially as 10 of the 15 players are bottom age and can go again next year in this age group.

Game 2  - Melton 139 def Good News Lutheran College 86

Game 3 – Melton 104 lost to Surfcoast College 130 (we were in a winning position with 9 balls left to be bowled but we lost 4 wickets and did not score off these last 9 balls. This loss cost us a place in the State finals.

The game is like indoor cricket where you bat in pairs for 2 overs and you lose 5 runs for every wicket that goes out.

Sports Excursion - Changes to Pre Excursion Arrangements 2019

  • The trial period re the change to sport excursion arrangements has now STOPPED.
  • Simple rule – if you have not returned your consent form and paid your money by 4.45 the DAY BEFORE the excursion then YOU ARE NOT GOING unless you have approval and notified Mr. Darcy of any problem.
  • We have had enough of lost forms/forgetting/didn’t know/changed mind etc etc.
  • Students need to develop time and organisation habits.
  • We have given students 2 terms grace to develop habits regarding this and we have been very tolerant but this puts extra stress on the office staff and the organisers.
