Voice for Change Student Excursion

Some students were invited to attended a program run by Voice For Change. Voice For Change is a community-focused initiative by the Mushroom Group aimed to inspire young people to follow their dreams and ambition. This program is supported by the Department of Education for schools in the South Western Region of Victoria. The program teaches song and poem writing as a way of instilling creativity and talent in young people.  We thank our very own Music teacher Mr. Whitmore who supported and guided our students.

Year 9 students from Left to Right: Beatrice Dawo, Bakita Kuot, Jennifer Bagula, Agnes Syombua, and their Music Teacher Mr. Andrew Whitmore.

Parent Engagement Forum

Through the Refugee Education Support Program (RESP), a joint initiative with Foundation House and Centre for Multicultural and Youth (CMY), programs from SPECTRUM are currently being delivered.

Spectrum Family Services are engaging and discussing issues around settlement and intergenerational gaps.  Melton Secondary College Pathways team co-facilitated the first session. The weekly sessions will conclude on the 19th of December.  Dialogue and feedback on how children are tracking in education settings and in the broader communities are crucial.
