Our Japanese Exchange Program NEEDS YOU!
Melton Secondary College is seeking families who are able to host students from our sister school, Japan. Melton Secondary College has been hosting visiting students and staff from Showa Junior High School for five years. Host families have always found the experience to be a wonderful way of learning about new culture and an excellent language learning opportunity for their children and family.
Visiting students from Soja City, Japan will accompany Melton Secondary College students to school and home each day and stay with host families over the weekend. As a host family, you need to provide
- A separate bed
- 3 meals a day (you don’t have to cook a special meal)
- English speaking environment
- Transport to/from school
Host families will receive an allowance of $150 from the college to support their expenses.
It is a government requirement that all host family members over 18 years old need to submit Working with Children Check. All you need is a Volunteer WWC card so it is free of charge and you can apply online at:
The visitors arrive on Friday, 2 August and leave for Japan on Saturday, 10 August.
