Grade 1/2 with Anna

In term 2, we learnt all about our solar system. It was fantastic to find out interesting facts and made mini books for each of the planets. We discovered that it would be quite difficult to live on some planets (Neptune is way too cold!) and that the solar system is very big.

What did you learn about the solar system?

"I learnt how the planets work and how different they are to earth."  Skye

"That the planets to the sun are hotter, and the planets away from the sun are colder." Avelyn

"That Uranus has a dome of ice." Kobe

"That Venus is very pretty."  James

"I like everything about the solar system." John

"I learnt that the planets temperature changes how far away it is from the sun." Niels

"That Earth has more life than all the other planets." Henry

"That Venus is hotter than Mercury."  Cooper

 Dinosaurs...traces of the past

Today we had a visit from Museums Victoria for students in years Prep to 2 to take part in there Outreach Program.   We had various fossils to look at on display, and learnt lots of facts with Wendy looking through her presentation.
