Principal's Report

By Carolyn Serpell

Welcome back to Term 3!  We are all looking forward to the opportunity to share in another great term of learning as well as a range of special events such as Book Week and the skiing/snowboarding program!

Yesterday, information was sent out to families regarding the 5/6 skiing/snowboarding program, which will commence in August.  We are now seeking volunteers to assist.  Please note that all volunteers must have a current Working With Children Check and abide by our Child Safe and Volunteer Code of Conduct.  If you are keen to help out, please contact the office or email us

As part of Museums Victoria's outreach program, today students in Prep-2 participated in an incursion: Dinosaurs...traces of the past. This exhibition provided students with an opportunity to explore and view the world of dinosaurs through fossils and a video presentation.

Today we wish Mac, Bianca and Nate all the very best as they head to Melbourne to complete in the State Finals for Cross Country running.  It is a great achievement to have progressed so far and we look forward to hearing all about their experience.

Tomorrow, students in Years 4-6 will travel to Wodonga for the annual Winter Sports competition.  Please ensure students arrive at 8.30am (unless arriving by bus) and are dressed in school uniform, with suitable footwear and a change of clothes and raincoat. They will also need to bring a full water-bottle, lunch, recess and snacks for the day.  Students who suffer asthma, will also need to bring a puffer which they will need to keep with them.

During the holidays, extensive works were undertaken to upgrade access around the school.  As a result, we now have some very impressive ramps!  In the coming weeks, balustrading will be installed, but until this time we have limited access in and out of the junior building.  To avoid added congestion, please continue to drop off and pick up students from outside the building.

Building works are also now well underway on the BER extension, which will include accessible toilets and a kitchenette/meeting room space.  This is a much needed space and will make a wonderful addition to this building.

As previously indicated, RAT kits will continue to be available to families throughout this term.  Please continue to notify the school if your child tests positive and ensure your child understands the importance of wearing a mask indoors, if they are a close contact.

Meet our newly named Koala friend, Cocoa! Over the coming weeks and months, Cocoa will be spending time in classrooms and sharing some of their experiences with us all.
