Events for Term 3

 

SSV Soccer Beachside Division Championships - Monday 18th July

The successful Year 5/6 Girls Soccer Team will head off to Kingston Heath Soccer Complex in Cheltenham next Monday to compete in the Beachside Division Championships. Mr Kost is bullish about their chances, but we know the competition is always more difficult at this level. Our girls are up to it though - Go St Agnes’!

 

PSG Meetings - Monday 18th to Wednesday 20th July

Program Support Group meetings will take place next week. Those parents affected should have received a booking invitation from our Deputy Principal and Diversity Leader, Louisa Di Pietro.

 

Sacrament of First Eucharist Family Faith Night - Wednesday 20th July

The evening begins at 7:30pm in the school hall for parents and in the classroom for students. The faith night will run for approximately 1 hour and it is an expectation that a parent/guardian attends this night with their child please.

 

Interschool Sport vs St Catherine’s - Friday 22nd July

For the first time in three years, our Year 5 and 6 students will compete in Interschool Sports activities with local Catholic school rival, St Catherines’ Moorabbin. The children will play Soccer, Basketball and Rounders. The first session takes place at ‘home’ on Friday 22nd July and will continue weekly after that.

 

P&F Footy Lunch

The P&F are organising a special lunch day for all children on Monday 25th July and Monday 29th August. Hot dogs and other little goodies will be available for order. Be on the lookout for order forms.

 

Helen Paul Kinder Visit - Monday 25th July

Our Year 5 students will again visit Helen Paul Kindergarten on Monday 25th July. This is part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen community relationships and raise the profile of our school in the local area.

 

School Advisory Council (SAC) Meetings 

The School Advisory Council will meet on two occasions this term - Tuesday 26th July and Tuesday 23rd August. These meetings are held at school and commence at 7.30pm.

 

Prep Parish Mass - Saturday 30th July

The Prep children will help plan and lead Parish Mass on Saturday 30th July at 6pm. We ask that all children and parents are present at this mass. This is part of our commitment and contribution to the faith life of our parish and school.

 

Parents and Friends Committee Meeting - Tuesday 2nd August

The P&F are meeting for the first time this term on Tuesday 2nd August at 7.30pm. All parents are welcome to attend and we ask Class Representatives to make a special effort to be present please.

 

Prep 100 Days Celebration - Wednesday 3rd August

Our wonderful Prep children will celebrate 100 days of school on Wednesday 3rd August. There will be dress ups and lots of special activities. The Preps will also be leading assembly on this day. More details to follow.

 

SSV Hooptime Basketball - Year 5/6 and Year 3/4

Our Year 5 and 6 students will head off to Hooptime Basketball on Thursday 4th August at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre. The Year 3 and 4students will compete in their Hooptime competition on Tuesday 9th August, also at MSAC. We compete against other Catholic schools in our District.

 

Family Maths Night - Tuesday 9th August

We are pleased for welcome back our Family Maths Night on Tuesday 9th August. There will be more details to come, but this is a wonderful opportunity to come to school and learn about how Mathematics is taught at St Agnes’. We ask that all children attend with at least one parent.

 

P&F Social Event - Friday 12th August

Please mark this social event in your calendar and get your babysitter booked in. More details to follow via Operoo. Tickets on Sale soon.

 

First Eucharist Reflection Day - Wednesday 17th August

The children will complete a range of activities related to the sacrament on this day. They can also wear casual clothes.

 

First Eucharist Masses

There are two First Eucharist Masses this year. They will take place on Saturday 20th August and Saturday 27th August at 6pm mass. Booking details were sent via Operoo yesterday.

 

Book Week Celebration - Thursday 18th August

We will be celebrating Book Week on Thursday 18th August. The children will be invited to dress up on this day, there will be a parade in the morning, prizes for best dressed and related activities in classrooms as well.

 

School Closure Day - Monday 22nd August

The school will be closed on this day for staff professional learning. We will be updating First Aid skills/knowledge, as well as learning more about Multisensory Structured Language approach (MSL).

 

Father’s Day Stall - Friday 26th August

The children will be able to purchase Father’s Day gifts for their Dads on Friday 26th August. Thank you to our P&F and Year 2 parents for making this happen!

 

Sacrament of Confirmation Parent Information Night - Wednesday 31st August

This session will be parents only and will held in the school hall on Wednesday 31st August. More information to follow.

 

Father’s Day Breakfast - Thursday 1st September

The Father’s Day Breakfast will held in the School Hall on Thursday 1st September. This is always a special event for our school. Helpers will be needed - Please get involved to make it a special morning for our Dads and kids.

 

SSV District Athletics - Thursday 1st September

A representative team will go to Duncan Mackinnon Reserve on Thursday 1st September to compete against other Catholic schools from Holt District. Mr Kost will be organising trials during PE classes this term to place children into events.

 

Year 5 and 6 Camp

The Year 5 and Year 6 students will be heading to Arrabri Lodge for a two night camp from Monday 5th to Wednesday 7th September. This is very exciting, especially for our current Year 5's who missed out on their Year 3 and 4 camps due to Covid-19. This camp is an outdoor activities camp and one which has been popular for a long time at St Agnes’. I thank the Year 5/6 staff for giving up time with their families to go away with the children.

 

Year 1/2 Parish Mass - Saturday 10th September

The Year 1 and Year 2 children will help plan and lead Parish Mass on Saturday 10th September at 6pm. We ask that all parents and children are present at this mass. This is part of the commitment to contributing to the faith life of our parish and school.

 

Footy Colours Day - Friday 16th September

We will finish term three will a Footy Colours Day and a number of related activities. This will be led by our Sports Captains and the children can dress up in the colours of their favourite footy team! Hopefully the tigers are deep into finals action by this point!

 

Last Day of Term Three- Friday 16th September

The last day of Term Three is Friday 16th September. School will conclude at 1.30pm on this day.
