From the Dorms

Junior Girls
The junior girls have enjoyed staying cozy inside at the onset of the cooler weather! We've seen an increase in the use of the tv room and the Oodies are starting to make a come-back.
Jasmin generously brought in a supper cornucopia for her birthday that we enjoyed and some leftovers even made their way down to the senior girls' supper!
There were also some winners in our dorms for the colouring-in competition for Reconciliation Week.
Thank you, Siggy for organising!

Senior Girls
The Senior girls have been shivering into the winter months. Staying in bed in the morning is a huge temptation …..for staff as well as boarders.
One of the daily reminders that have to be talked about is keeping rooms neat and tidy and remembering to empty personal rubbish bins and make beds before heading off to school. Some girls struggle while others have rooms that look like displays for Home Beautiful. The introduction of plants, wall displays, and lamps helps to create a more homely atmosphere.
The coming together of the senior girls after school for afternoon tea or supper often extends into time sitting around and chatting and playing various games. These are the best times as it is fantastic to see girls from across the senior levels mixing and getting to know each other. The girls are to be commended for how they do mingle not only across the year levels but also between the two schools.
Lillian has been to Sydney to compete in the NSW All Schools Combined High School Swimming. She represented NSWCCC Swimming in the 200m Butterfly and came 5th overall. Rory, Isabelle, and Abbey were part of the MDCC-winning AFL team.
Several of the girls also had a chance to go to the Rock of Ages MDCC concert when they stayed in the boarding house for the night prior to the strike day. It was not only a great performance but a chance to ‘go out’ as a small boarding group.
Rory Isabelle and Abbey were part of the winning MDCC team for the AFL women’s competition. How sad that, unlike the Curry Cup, Carroll Cup, this competition doesn’t have a name to identify it.
A strong contingent of girls and boys went to the "Live It Up!" variety Concert and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Stay warm and enjoy the wonder of winter in Wagga and beyond.

The cold weather has hit, but that hasn’t stopped the students from being kept very busy.
Congratulations to Joe, Jed, and Will who played in the winning Kildare side against Mater Dei in the Carroll Cup. The game was played in great spirit and was a credit to both colleges.
Will and Matt travelled to Sydney to play in the NSW State soccer carnival. The lads played 4 games and came up against some stiff opposition from the metropolitan sides. Will and Matt enjoyed the experience and relished the opportunity to play against such good players.
This long weekend Eli, Jed, and Angus are off to Maitland, to play in a state basketball carnival. They play for over 3 days and are looking forward to the competition.
I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable long weekend.
