Fast Fashion Upcycling

This week in Global Studies, students focussed on the final step in any effective inquiry- taking action! Students recycled and upcycled old clothes and unusable uniforms into new products. Following a visit to Landfill and St Vinnie’s, Year 10 Global Studies students were keen to take action to avoid clothing ending up in either location. This was the first time some students used a sewing machine, and it was a steep learning curve for most; however, they were proud of their efforts.

Congratulations Year 10 Global Studies… you will be the change-makers!

Business in Action

The Year 10 Business and Enterprise students participated in a ‘Make and Create’ workshop with entrepreneur Gail Johnston, owner of Once More Creative. The class has been brainstorming potential business ideas for next semester and workshopped with Gail on how to go about turning these dreams into a reality. Students created succulents in pots, beeswax wraps, bath bombs and pencil cases. A truly worthwhile experience, with students commenting that it was a great way to test out ideas and have fun along the way.

CASE Space School Expedition 2023

The Clayfield College is excited to announce our participation in CASE Space School Expedition 2023. All Clayfield College students are invited to join CASE Junior Space School or CASE Senior Space School and visit NASA in the USA!

The space industry is the most stimulating environment to showcase the impact of STEAM and innovation in our world and inspire students in the pursuit of STEAM studies.

This is a wonderful opportunity for all students to learn beyond the classroom and be inspired by the opportunities that lie ahead!

Fun Run

Thank you to the P&F for organising such a successful Fun Run on Sunday. We are very grateful to our President Rae Morris, Secretary Charlotte Reichard and their amazing team of parents who always give so generously of their time and resources to coordinate such memorable events for our students. The Disco and Amazing Race were particular highlights with Clare Cattanach organising some fabulous obstacle races. Thank you also to the generosity of our sponsors who gave us wonderful prizes to raffle on the day.

I wish you all a rested and safe holiday.
