Events/Excursions

YEAR 8 EXCURSION

All of our Year 8 students went into the city on an excursion last week. We went into the city to Hamer Hall to see some fantastic musical performances by Baker Boy and the Halo Vocal Ensemble. Afterwards we went to the Australian Center for the Moving Image (ACMI) where we explored the interactive exhibits. It was a wonderful day that was enjoyed by all.

YEAR 7 DRONE SESSIONS

Katie from SheMaps delivered 3 student drone sessions to students in the Banyule Nillumbik area in early June. Macleod College was fortunate enough to send 20 Year 7 students to learn about Drone technology and careers.

Students learnt about the laws, flying and programming drones for mapping.

FUN AT THE GERMAN FILM FESTIVAL

Last Wednesday, 1 June, Years 10, 11 and 12 students of German enjoyed a day out in the city at the German Film Festival.

They took the train in from Macleod Station and had time for a hot drink before watching the comedy Mission Ulja Funk about a feisty teenager pursuing her passion for astronomy against the odds.

After lunch at Melbourne Central students returned to school, later discussing the plot and characters of the film in German in class.

It was great to be able to enjoy this festival “in real life” again after two years of online events only!
