Primary
As we roll into the end of term, we are seeing the typical fatigue that sets in for our students and staff. The cold weather brings with it the coughs and sniffles we have not seen for the past couple of winters. There is something oddly comforting, knowing that we are getting back to normal even if it means we have to build up our immunity with each other again.
The past couple of weeks has seen our students participating in many assessments as we gather information on where they are travelling with their learning. The teachers are working hard to prepare reports to share with you early next term so that you can see their results also.
The year 4,5,6 students participate in their last matches in interschool sport this week in netball and teeball. We have had a dream run with sport this term without having to cancel any matches due to the weather. This has been very welcome, in light of the fact that we have not been able to run this program for the last couple of years. Next term’s sports will be bat tennis and soccer. The students really enjoy the opportunity to meet other students from our neighbouring schools as well as being able to learn the skills of sports that maybe new to them.
Our wonderful PFA group are working towards some new fundraising projects for our school. The next one will be the Bunnings Sausage Sizzle at Fairfield Bunnings this Sunday 19 June. Jane and her team would warmly welcome your input to help run the event, even if you can spare an hour on the day.
For those parents and carers needing before school care for their children, we will be offering care on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 7am next term. Please ensure that you book in through the school website or phone the office on 9459 0222. Of course, our after school program will continue to run each day till 6.00pm.
I hope you and your families enjoy the upcoming holidays and we look forward to another fun-filled and productive term in Term 3.
