From the Principal

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

I would like to welcome you all back to Term 3. I do hope that you had an opportunity to enjoy the school holidays with your children.

The St Augustine's Term 2 reports are now available to be viewed on our Parent Access Module (PAM). I would encourage all parents and caregivers to have a conversation with your son/daughter regarding their reports and their learning goals for the year. To offer additional feedback regarding your child's learning growth, a Subject Teacher Conversation afternoon/evening has been planned for Thursday 25th August.  Further information will be shared with families in Term 3.

To strengthen the relationship between families and the College, St Augustine’s College is seeking to introduce a Family Community Partnerships program. The aim of the Family Community Partnerships framework is to build sustainable and effective partnerships between all members of the school community, including school leaders, staff, families and students. An Expressions of Interest letter was forwarded to the parent community earlier this term. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Family Community Partnerships program, please complete the following link by Monday 18th July. Family Community Partnerships Expression of Interest form

I am very excited to welcome Tim Campbell to St Augustine’s College. Tim has been appointed as the Deputy Principal of Student Learning and Professional Practice. Tim was previously employed at St Joseph's College, Echuca as College Leader: Projects and Communication. Prior to this appointment, Tim held the position of Deputy Principal: Student Wellbeing and Development at St Mary of the Angels, Nathalia. In addition to Tim's extensive leadership positions, Tim also holds a Master in Education and Theology and a Graduate Certificate in Catholic Studies.

I am also delighted to announce that the College has been able to appoint a full time tutor for Semester 2, 2022. Catherine Macdermid is an experienced teacher having worked most recently at an International School in China. Catherine will bring great strength in literacy having held Literacy Coordinator positions in her past employment. In addition, Catherine has a Master in Education, a Certificate in Literacy (Masters Level) from Australian Catholic University and a Bachelor of Primary Education. Catherine will work predominantly with the Foundation to Year 4 community to support students in their literacy development.

Have a wonderful fortnight.

Jay Sutton
