2023 Subject Selection Process

The 2023 Subject Selection process has begun. This is an exciting time in the school calendar when students and families discuss students' passions, subject options and career possibilities.

There are Subject Information Booklets located on the Website that students can access to investigate all subjects on offer. Each Learning area has prepared subject videos that outline the content and assessment at each Year level. Students should watch these videos to inform their decision making regarding the subjects they choose. https://www.vermontsc.vic.edu.au/curriculum/

Please click on the tile appropriate to the year level the students are moving into in 2023.

The school conducted a Subject Selection Information Evening for families as an online event on Thursday July 21st between 6 and 8pm.

Apologies again for the technical difficulties we experienced trying to conduct the Year 8-9 event. We have made a recording of the information and frequently asked questions and this will be posted on the website today along with recordings of all of the remaining year level presentations.

Year 10 – 11 students had a house meeting on Wednesday July 20th and there will be an on-site meeting for Year 8 students on Tuesday July 26th to explain the subject selection process.

Students and Families will need to access power points on the School Website that will explain the steps students need to take to make informed choices about their course for next year. These are specific to each year level.  https://www.vermontsc.vic.edu.au/curriculum/

Students will receive an email that directs them to log into Web Preferences, the program we use to collect all students’ preferences and construct our timetable.

Web Preferences will open on Friday July 22nd for all Year levels.

Students in Year 9 – 10 will have a course counselling session with college staff member on site:

Hotham – Monday August 1st

Stirling – Tuesday August 2nd

Macedon - Friday August 5th

Year 9-10 students will receive an emailed letter with an offer for an Advance placement subject if they are eligible by Wednesday July 27th. Students in Year 10-11 will have a course counselling session with a college staff member in one of their Maths or English classes between Monday July 25th and Monday August 8th.

Web Preferences will close on Wednesday August 10th @4pm
