VERMONT SC AND WANTIRNA SC AT THE RECITAL CENTRE

On Monday 18/7, our Symphonic Band joined Wantirna’s Symphonic band to in a collaboration which saw our joint band perform for the NEVR Regional concert at the Melbourne Recital Centre. On a cold and wet day, the students caught the bus into town for their rehearsal slot and made their way back into the city in the evening for their performance. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the performances conducted by Mr. Ben Muddyman and Mr. Danny Van Bergen.

We wish to thank all the students and their families for being involved and for representing the college in such a positive way on such a big occasion. 

VICTORIAN SCHOOLS MUSIC FESTIVAL – 17th AUGUST

On Wednesday the 17th of August the Symphonic Band will compete in the VSMF competition alongside many other schools from around the region. The students will not only perform in front of a live audience and panel of adjudicators, but will also be given some educational feedback on some of their techniques and stage craft to assist them with ongoing performances. The students will take a bus driven by Mr. Mizzi to the Hawthorn Town Hall. 

Our section will run from 1 – 4pm and we will return to Vermont by approximately 4:30pm
