SAVE THE DATE: BOOK WEEK 2022

This year at Ripponlea we are going to Celebrate Book Week on Monday 22nd of August.

Not only are we going to have our annual dress up procession. We are also going to hold a morning tea and book swap.

To start to prepare for this event we ask families to mark this date in your calendars so you can join in the festivities and talk to your child about choosing a book or 2 (in good condition) that they are happy to bring to school and swap.

The morning will be filled with our favourite book character costumes, choosing a pre-loved book to take home and scones and tea for the whole family.

More details for the event will be sent home in the first week of Term 3.

PARENTS BATTLE OF THE BANDS IS BACK !!!!

A massive thank you to the awesome and supportive community of Ripponlea PS and to The Rippoffs for representing!

The band shrunk from 11 to 2 members due to unforeseen circumstances, but our school had the second biggest attendance, with 114 tickets sold! 2022 will be even better no doubt! A very special thank you to the two last standing musicians, Bridget and Ross.

Here is the final amount raised for the music and Performing Arts program at Ripponlea Primary School:

SAVE THE DATE!!!

The Parents Battle Of the Bands is back for the 4th edition!

It will be held at St Kilda’s iconic live music venue, the Prince Bandroom

on the 11th August 2022

Our Parents Band, 'The Ripoffs', are participating with 6 other local primary schools including St. Kilda Primary, Elwood Primary, Port Melbourne Primary, Galilee Primary, Middle Park Primary & St Kilda Park Primary.

The funds raised are used to expand the musical education programs and improve facilities for participating schools and help further our children's musical education.

It is also a great opportunity to connect with different school communities and have a lot of fun.

All proceeds will be redistributed pro-rata of parents’ attendance/number of tickets sold by each school.

The real winners are the schools that sell the most tickets!  It is a fun night of great music and quality entertainment - legendary if you ask previous crowds!

CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

This year we are celebrating our centenary, which also includes a fete! For this to happen we need to establish a centenary/fete committee or this marvelous celebration unfortunately will not be able to go ahead.

We have a basic plan and structure for the celebrations but need leaders and organisers to take on different roles.

Without people volunteering we will not be able to go ahead and provide an amazing celebration for our school and the children.

If you are happy to be involved and perhaps take on a lead role in any area (it could be organising the food, rides, stalls etc) please contact Tarryn Holland on Tarryn.Holland@education.vic.gov.au by Friday the 24th June.
