RESPECTFUL RELATIONSHIPS

SAFE + EQUAL
The school-based Respectful Relationships team recently spent some time together to audit school practices and policies and further their understanding of how RPS can work with all members of its local community and engage with the broader community to assist our students in building healthy relationships, resilience and confidence.
While we are hopeful that initiatives like the promotion of Respectful Relationships in schools will one day see an end to family and gender-based violence in Victoria, we were very impressed to learn about Safe and Equal - an excellent resource which links in with specialist services to support victims of family violence.
As described on its website, Safe and Equal is the peak body for specialist family violence services that provide support to victim survivors in Victoria. They are an independent, non-government organisation that leads, organises, advocates for, and acts on behalf of its members – with a focus across the continuum from primary prevention through to response and recovery. They work towards a world beyond family and gender-based violence, where women, children and all people from marginalised communities are safe, thriving and respected.
We encourage any community members who may know of people who would benefit from these connected services, to please visit: https://safeandequal.org.au/
