St Xavier's Athletics Carnival
What a fantastic day was had by all who were able to make our Athletics Carnival last Thursday.
A huge shout out to the following people who helped make the day amazing (apologies if anyone was forgotten):
- Andrew Frend for being our expert starter and for his patience with all the children.
- Heidi Hardaker from the Armidale Diocesan Primary Sport Council, who not only spent the whole day helping us, but is always on hand to give us guidance and advice
- Kate Hardy and her merry band of awesome Little A’s parents who ran the timing gates all day.
- Our parent helpers for stepping up and taking on lots of different jobs and /or stepping into the canteen when needed.
- The local bus companies for changing their routes to accommodate us.
- Our amazing staff for everything they do to make a day like this run smoothly.
- All the supporters who came out, it was so wonderful to see so many parents and grandparents cheering all the children on.

NSWCPS Rugby Trials
On Sunday 26 June, Archie Swain, Ned Thompson, Kade Bush and Ted Sheedy travelled to Forbes for the NSWCPS Rugby Trials. The Trials were held over two days. The boys played some great rugby and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of playing with and against some really tough competition. Unfortunately none of the boys progressed onto the NSWCPS Polding team, but they should be very proud of their efforts of making it so far in the sport pathway.
ADPSC Toni Palmer Memorial Shield (Rugby League)
On Wednesday, our senior rugby league team battled the icy weather and travelled to Inverell for the Toni Palmer Memorial Shield.
With a team mainly made up of union players, coach Mr Crane, already knew the team had a lot of learning to do during the day. As the day went on, the team improved massively through each game as they became more familiar with rules and how to play. After coming close in a couple of early games, the team saved the best till last and won their last game which left the team happy with their efforts of the day. Mr Crane was very proud of all the boys and the attitude they showed in some very tough games. He couldn't fault the effort and heart all boys showed once again.
Thank you to all the parents for driving, helping and supporting.
EXPRESSION OF INTEREST NSWCPS Netball Championships
Tuesday 6 September, 2022
Jamison Park Netball Complex, York Road, Penrith
It has been a couple of years since we have been able to attend the NSWCPS Netball Championships. We are very excited and hopeful that this event will be going ahead this year, however a number of changes have had to be made. For any parents who have been involved in this event in the past, it will look a little different this year.
St Xavier’s will only be nominating one senior girls team (Year 5 and Year 6 only) to attend. If we get too many nominations, tryouts will be held at school.
Transport and accommodation will be the responsibility of parents.
Please complete the google form if you would like your daughter to tryout.
Nominations need to be received by Tuesday 19 July.
The team will be announced by Friday 29 July.
Further information was emailed to parents on Wednesday 29 June.
