TERM 2 - WEEK 10

To the St Nicholas School Community

With Term 2 coming to a close today our school community is in need of a break to refresh, recharge and reset for future learning and our next challenge. Term 2 2020 will go down in history as one of significant disruption, stress and uncertainty. At St Nicholas School however, we can be very proud of the stability provided around communication, learning and wellbeing. As a school community we have continued to grow, which is significant due to the medias doomsday prediction of students and school communities losing 12 months of learning. I thank each and everyone of you for your support, love of your children and willingness to trust us during this challenging time.

Term 3 2020

During the school holidays many of you will hopefully have the opportunity to travel away and enjoy some family time. Please keep in mind though travel between NSW and VIC is currently discouraged. Also remembering after the holidays have concluded please do not send your child/ren to school from Tuesday 21st July (Day 1 Term 3) if they are displaying any flu like symptoms. We all need to continue to play our part in keeping each other safe.

Semester Reports and Parent Teacher Interviews

On Monday you would have received your child’s 2020 Semester One Report. A new template reflecting the learning which has occurred before, during and after L.I.F.T-Off Learning.

Thank you to the families who have sat down with their child to support their learning through a conversation. Part of this process included identifying strengths and future areas of focus by completing the Learning Feedback Form. This type of feedback is just one aspect of the school's commitment in having parent and student voices being heard. This will also form a significant component of the parent teacher interviews.

Parent teacher interviews will be conducted in Week 3 and Week 4 of Term 3 (3rd to 14th August). Parents will be forwarded details on Tuesday 21st July, first day of Term 3, on how to electronically book your parent teacher interview. Once again, please use this as an opportunity to support your child’s learning.

Home Learning: PM Readers online

A reminder the Online PM readers subscription continues for the remainder of 2020. Parents/students can access these readers to support their children’s reading at any time.
