Koorie Education with Sherry Johnstone

This term we are lucky to have a visiting guest Koorie artist and educator, Sherry Johnstone.  Sherry is a local Warrnambool person, and also works at the Warrnambool Art Gallery.

So far, Sherry has worked with many of the senior students and some of the younger students, with more sessions continuing over the next few weeks. 

Sherry will be visiting each class to teach students about local Aboriginal customs, language and history. Students will learn through stories, discussion, art, games and drama. 

Below is Durrell Proctor, the Warrnambool Primary School Koorie Leader, with Sherry Johnstone.  Durrell has created an iMovie which he is going to use to teach some local language to his peers.
