Mr Butts' Announcements

Principal

We're up to the Challenge!

If anyone can do it - St Mary's can! That's the feel around the school this week as we head back into remote learning.  We all acknowledge it's far from ideal, but we are going to give it our best shot and continue learning online. Once again thank you to the teachers for jumping into action to provide high quality and engaging online learning at such short notice.

Don't forget to get into a routine early and stick with it the best you can.  Communication is also important, so please contact your child's teacher if you have any difficulties.  Good luck everyone!

Sad News

We were all deeply saddened with the loss of Johno Bentencourt last week after a long battle with cancer.  He is Miss Turk's nephew and Liz's beloved grandson.  Most people in the community know of the inspirational determination Johno had right until his final days and were amazed by the positive way he faced adversity.  May he rest in peace.

Let Your Light Shine!

Some of you may have noticed the new Let Your Light Shine at the front of the school is now lit up at night.  I'm sure you will all agree it looks spectacular!

Online Assembly

Assemblies will be on Monday afternoons during remote learning.  We will be able to pass on important information for the week and connect together as a whole school. Online assemblies will begin at 12:30pm and begin next Monday 10th August.

Pupil Free Day

As mentioned last week, Friday 28th August will be a pupil free day.  Children currently attending school during the remote learning will be required to stay at home on this day.

Mr Butts'  Jokes!

Ha HA HA You're hilarious Mr Butts!
Ha HA HA You're hilarious Mr Butts!

A boy went to the doctor and told him he thought he had broken his arm in two places. The doctor told him he'd better stop going to those places!

Son: Hey dad, can you tell me what a solar eclipse is?

Father: No son.

Principal's Award

Week 3 Isabelle Vraca

Isabelle is a very positive student with an excellent sense of humour. She completes work at a very high standard which is due to her excellent work ethic and the goals she sets for herself in the classroom.  Isabella was also spotted recently going out of her way to include a student who was sitting on the buddy bench. Fantastic Isabelle!

Week 4 Audrey Davis

Audrey is a very friendly and welcoming student who is also kind and thoughtful.  She recently made lemon slice for a new student to St Mary's who was celebrating a birthday.  What a lovely gesture.  Thank you for being such a caring person Audrey!

Great Quote

“Is your glass half empty or half full?” asked the mole.  “I’m just happy to have a glass,” said the boy.

Have a great weekend everyone.
