Year 1 Science and HASS News

This term in Science, Year 1 students are investigating different materials and the changes we can make to them. So far they have been bending, twisting, and stretching different materials and observing what happens. Students also enjoyed the ‘Stretchy Snake Challenge’ where they tried to stretch a gummy snake to the longest possible length.

In HASS this term we are focusing on Geography and have been exploring weather and seasons around Australia and the world. We have looked at how the seasons and weather vary in different places and the students have learned about how the indigenous people describe and use the seasonal changes. They really enjoyed acting out the aboriginal story of Tiddalik the Frog.
