Message from the 

Head of Junior School

This week our Kindergarten class of 2021 and new students attended an Orientation Day. 

Our students from Year 5 ‘buddied’ the Kindergarten students while other new students had their grade buddies. The students were outstanding  ambassadors from the moment the new students entered the school. To have responsibility and demonstrating understanding and care was a pleasure to see. The manner in which they welcomed and had the new students involved speaks highly of their character and for Year 5 the leadership qualities we desire for 2021 when in Year 6. 

 

Keeping you up to date with the various activities for the rest of the year but being mindful changes can occur:

  • Celebration Assembly and Speech Day for the Junior School will be one event. It is set down for Wednesday 2 December 2020. This event will be live streamed. School will finish for the year at 3:15pm. Unfortunately,  parents cannot attend the assembly.
  • Musicals – each Stage group is preparing for the following performances:
    Kindergarten - Year 2: Santa and the Swagman
    Year 3 - 4: The Pirate Cantata 
    Year 5 - 6: Going Viral - The 2020 Circus
    Again, unfortunately parents cannot attend but we are having the shows professionally filmed and you’ll receive a link to watch from home.
  • Year 6 Farewell – Friday 20 November 2020 in the DPA. This will occur as normal but parents will not be able to attend for photos or move to the hall for pickup. These arrangements will be clarified closer to the date. Again, a professional photographer will be there to take small and large group photographs.
  • Performing Arts Assembly – Wednesday 25 November 2020. This assembly will have a different format to our usual assembly. Again, pictures will be uploaded as parents cannot attend. Further details will be sent closer to the date.
