Year 2 Swimming

Finishes Week 6 - Wednesday 18 November 2020

Due to heavy bookings within the pool during the last week of Term the Year 2 Swimming program will be concluding on Wednesday 18 November in Week 6. Students have been making great progress with their skills and confidence in preparation for the summer months.

Stage 2 Teeball

Finishes Week 7

The progress of the students in the Teeball sessions has been impressive and the coaches have decided to continue the development of their skills for the remainder of the term. Allowing more time will provide students with the continuity to learn more about the game. Students will transition to internal cricket in the first half of Term 1 2021.

Stage 3 Touch / European Handball

Finishes Week 7

The Stage 3 competition in Touch has been interrupted by last week’s storms and cancellations, however a great deal of fun and improvement has been evident. The competition will conclude today and students will participate in European Handball from next Monday. This will be the first time European Handball will be introduced as a Junior School Sport and there is much anticipation from the students having experienced a taste of it last term. We look forward to seeing these games take place on the netball courts next week.

Sport Cancellations

With the unpredictable weather and possibility of storms in the next few weeks we remind all parents and students to confirm “Plan B” movements prior to the start of the school day in the event of sport being cancelled.

Cricket Reports

Cricket Under 11 Report

Congratulations to the U11 team who have shown great progress in each of their games this term. The U11 and U12 teams were kept back at school during the stormy weather last week to learn how to score. This is a valuable skill and very important in the development of every cricketer. During the process we played a virtual game using dice. The U11 team won the “match” by two runs! Great fun and the perfect way to fill a wet afternoon of cricket training.

Cricket Under 12 Report

The under 12 Cricket Team had a convincing win on the weekend and are worthy of a note in this week’s bulletin. Students have been training hard and developing their skills each session. On Saturday they bowled very well to dismiss their opponents for 28 runs. All players contributed to the game positively with Hugo O’Brien, Lenny Shannon and Ben Chambers impressing with the ball while Tom Mason and Henry Quigley batted well to steer the team past the winning score in 12 overs. Congratulations to the team as this win comes from a team focus and commitment to learning and developing their skills a training.
