Football

Mount Alvernia offers a countless range of great sports; one to be noticeably popular is Football and for good reason.  The opportunity to create new skills, meet new friends, and keep fit is offered to all the girls from Years 7 to 12 at Mt A.  The girls who commit themselves to a team take part in representing the College in the CaSSSA competition.  They partake in training sessions with their team each week and play against other schools on Wednesday afternoons.  Although it feels great, winning is not the point; making yourself, your team, and college proud by having fun and striving to do your best - that’s the point.  

We were lucky to move Football to Trimester 3 this season.  With three teams formed, they are nearing the end of the season.  Our Open team will play off for third place next week, while our other two teams are in the minor playoffs in Senior and Junior divisions.  Good luck, girls.
