PARENT OPINION SURVEY
Parents were randomly selected to receive this year’s Parent Opinion Survey, as per Department of Education and Training guidelines.
These surveys were sent out by post on 20 July and the number of survey invitations distributed was 160.
At this stage the school has only received 24 responses. The survey link is still open for a few more weeks so we hope we can encourage you to complete the survey if you were sent the link. If you need assistance to complete the survey, whether that is needing access to a computer or help with the language in the survey, please don’t hesitate to call the school office.
ABSENCES and COMPASS
This week we have started sending out SMS messages if your child is absent and the school has not received a phone call or a message via Compass to explain the absence.
Please ensure that you are logging into Compass to record the reason for the absence so we can reduce the number of unnecessary calls. Parents are reminded our school day starts at 8:55am and teachers mark their rolls at 9:00am. If students are late, it is the responsibility of the parent to bring their children to the office and fill in the details into our Compass kiosk. This is not to be used by students as they might do in secondary schools, as our students are not over 13 years of age.
CONCERT TICKETS
The link to ticket sales will be available on Thursday and this will be sent out via a newsfeed on Compass.
Thanks for your patience. We are aiming to sell over 600 tickets, so please log in and get your tickets for our annual event.
For our new families, our students sit with their grades and they do not require a ticket.
ICAS (INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION AND ASSESSMENT FOR SCHOOLS)
ICAS tests, developed by UNSW Global Assessment Team, will be undertaken at
Murrumbeena Primary School this year in reading and mathematics from Grades 2-6.
This forms part of our assessment schedule across the school and teachers will look at the data to identify areas of strengths within the curriculum and help guide future directions. If you require any further information, please call the office and ask for either myself or Chellee Plumb.
FLOOD MITIGATION PROJECT
Please refer to the attachment below which outlines work currently being undertaken in Neerim Road Murrumbeena, as this road closure may affect many families.
DISCO REMINDER
The school disco on Saturday night should be a most enjoyable evening.
Tickets are still available via Qkr! until 3.00pm Thursday.
