With COVID-19 restrictions relaxing across boarding schools, Kayla and Shakira were very excited to get back to the gym. After exercising they said that they felt reborn and they have been feeling the burn all week.

Everyone is still enjoying our whole boarding Thursday night dinners out the front! The girls really enjoy their afternoon tea time together!

Hi my name is Jenjarla, I have been boarding at Mt Erin since year 7 while attending Kildare. I come from a small town called Lake Cargelligo. Throughout my time here at Mt Erin I have made many different friendships. I have made so many memories that I wouldn't forget.

At first it was a challenge getting used to settling into the boarding house, but you do get used to it. I have accomplished many things here at Mt Erin.  The boarding school feels like a second home. Everyone welcomes everyone into the house. Throughout my time here at Kildare I have had many opportunities such as doing a nursing course throughout year 11 and 12.

Senior Boys

As Term 4 progresses, the Year 11 boys have begun work on their first HSC assessment tasks and it has been pleasing to see them work hard to rise to the increased challenge that these tasks present.

As the weather has warmed up, heading to the KCC pool has become an ideal after school activity to cool down for many boarders, while others have preferred to remain indoors in the air conditioning. An enjoyable, impromptu game of indoor bocci (Mt Erin style) one afternoon was taken out by Paddy Jones.

A number of the senior boys have enjoyed the opportunity to return to the gym this week as Covid-19 restrictions have been eased.

The senior boys are enjoying the new pool table in their area, with Jack Beavan organising a doubles tournament last Thursday evening that saw the team of Mason Crain and Ethan Watt emerging victorious.

The State of Origin has provided great entertainment over the last three Wednesday evenings, although it is disappointing that no senior boys have been converted to support Queensland!

The Ramsay Cup Inter-school Rugby Union competition has continued with the KCC team, represented by Mikey Fenney, Billy Ward, Isaac Gray, Bodean Tereva, Joseph Morton and Eli Williams, had a big win over Wagga Wagga Christrian College, with Mikey Fenney, Joe Morton and Isaac Gray (2) scoring tries, before suffering their first loss to The Riverina Anglican College. The MDCC team, represented by Max Peterson, have recorded wins over both Wagga Wagga High School and Wagga Wagga Christian College.

After a challenging year, the Year 12 class of 2020 completed their schooling journey on Friday night, with both KCC and MDCC holding modified Graduation Dinners. We offer our congratulations, our sincere thanks for their contributions to the Mt Erin Boarding community and our best wishes for their future endeavours.
