Classroom News - Year 6

UNE Discovery Bus

Last Friday, we had a visit from the UNE Discovery Bus and spent time learning about chemistry and applying some of our learning on the states of matter from earlier in the year. We made elephant's toothpaste followed by testing the ph of a range of materials to try and determine what they might be.

2020 Operetta Showing!

On Monday the school was treated to the debut performances of the Year 6 students at the 2020 Operetta Showing! Students across the school lined up out the front of their classrooms with their tickets. The Year 6 students, dressed in costume, greeted their fans at their 'cinema', checked their tickets, and ushered them in. While enjoying some treats, the Year 6 students stayed to watch their performance with the students, enjoying their reactions and laughter!

The last of our Playground Antics

You could blame the rain... maybe it was the consecutive days of inside weather, or maybe it was the looming thought of final days on the Primary playground... ever...

Whatever the reasons, play duty this week has been quite the sight with students, well, let's just say rather 'odd' in their interactions...

Photographic evidence reveals that students have enjoyed the joy of their final hours in the paddock by: walking arm in arm, hiding behind poles, interesting conversations with teachers, telling far-fetched tales, practicing their leaping skills (for no apparent reason), jumping crickets stumps when bowling, and yes - more 'hiding'!

We have loved the joy that our Year 6 students have given our school community over the last 7 years!

A Trip Down Memory Lane

Your last newsletter would not be complete without a few snaps from the year to remind us just how much learning and fun we had!

Upon reflection, COVID did not 'take away' too much, rather, only changed the way we 'did school!'

Farewell

Lord God,

Thank you for the extraordinary love and friendship, commitment and laughter, learning and creativity these wonderful students have given our school.

Thank you for the way they have served the school community and given out of their gifts and talents.

We pray that they will go on to find new treasures each day, new friends in new places, and new learning with new teachers.

May the blessing of Christ be upon all that they do.

Amen
