School Photos this Friday

We are very pleased our patience has paid dividends, and we can participate in school photos this Friday.

They are a lasting memory of each year at school for everyone to enjoy.

Please have students in full uniform (including school jumpers), hair and teeth brushed and smiles at the ready for Friday.

Sunscreen Policy & Process Change

From the beginning of the 2021 school year, School Council has confirmed, students will be provided the option of having sunscreen provided from classrooms, to apply and re-apply throughout the school day.

Students with allergies or skin irritations, should continue to provide their own.

Increased Concern Online and Lack of Supervision

I am extremely concerned at the prevalence of poor online behaviours and the sheer volume of incidents, arriving at school from home settings.

It is alarming that students aren't being supervised or supported at home to enter only age-appropriate sites.  In addition, parents & carers are clearly not tracking online chat forums of students, often with their peers.

Poor language, hurtful and bullying notions and inappropriate sites are often the outcome of 'unrestricted' and 'unmonitored', free device time at home.

I urge us all to step up, say "no", when required and take charge of who accesses what in our homes.

Staff are constantly dealing with issues stemming from home environments.

It's not fair to them or the students who aren't being supported or managed.

I acknowledge the First People of the Wathaurong, who are the traditional custodians of the land and waters on which I work and live, and pay my respects to the Elders of the past, present and emerging.
