Registrations open for Negotiations Competition 2020

This year's UN Youth Tasmania Negotiations Competition will be held on 29 November 2020, via the online platform Zoom.

Students in Years 9-12 will compete in teams of two to represent a particular country in a mock international negotiation. The aim is to find mutually beneficial resolutions to disagreements based in real-world situations.

Teams can be formed by students from differing schools (as long as they are Tasmanian), with the most effective diplomats and negotiators being announced the winners of the competition by the end of the day.

To get onboard with this fantastic opportunity, register online here

Standard office forms due

Parents and carers are reminded that payment arrangement forms, direct debit authorities and family discount applications need to be returned to the Business Office (Student Services) by no later than Friday 4 December 2020.

Wellbeing and exams

Have you seen ReachOut.com’s exam stress toolkit? It comes with stories and practical tips from recent students, checklists, action plans and tips and articles about handling end-of-year pressure and stress in ways that work for you, and secrets to study success.

Our top advice from the Office of Tasmanian Assessment, Standards and Certification (TASC) is:

  • Develop a routine that works for you, that includes both your studies and what you most enjoy.
  • Keep up to date with the latest information, including talking with your teachers and registering to receive TASC information via email (including your results).
  • Don’t hesitate to talk to your people – family, friends, teachers and others at school – about how you are feeling and if you need a hand. If you don’t feel like you can talk to someone you know, call or chat with one of these great agencies that are set up to support you:
    • eheadspace (1800 650 890)
    • Kids Helpline (1800 55 1800)
    • Lifeline (12 11 14)

Good luck to all our students completing exams and final assessments this week!
