Music News- Week 35

Year 7 Recital
Our run of very popular Year Level Recitals comes to a close this week! All students in Year 7 who take weekly lessons on an instrument or in voice are invited to participate in the Year 7 Recital; students who learn through the Music Department will have their applications managed through their tutors, while those who learn externally can apply through the Music Office. The concert starts at 7pm in the GBLT on Wednesday 18 November, with doors opening at 6:30pm for students to tune, warm and set-up.
Applications are due to the Music Office by Monday 16 November. Please contact the Music Department with any questions.
Christmas Concert
Please note that the venue for the upcoming Christmas Concert, featuring the Christmas Band, Chamber Orchestra, Brass Ensemble, Treble Choir, Barbershop and Senior Voices has been changed to Roncalli Hall, on Tuesday 24 November. Commencing at 3:30pm, this free concert is open to all parents and guests. Students are asked to bring a plate to share in an afternoon tea, following the concert. These can be dropped into the Music Department at the beginning of the day, if preferred.
Further details will be emailed to ensemble members; please contact the Music Office with any queries.
Music Incentive Awards 2021
Applications are now open for students currently in Year 7, to receive an Instrumental Incentive Award for 2021. These Awards provide students with the opportunity to learn on rare and unique instruments, and to integrate into the College’s various ensembles – for free! This year, Incentive Awards are available for viola, oboe, bassoon and Jazz guitar. Further information will be sent directly to Year 7 families, with a closing date of Friday 4 December.
Enrolment for Instrumental Tuition 2021
Applications to enrol in instrumental lessons in 2021 are open! Students already enrolled in lessons will automatically be continued for next year, but those looking to join our incredible cohort of young musicians can do so by completing our online form.
