Magis report

Congratulations to the Year 7 Magis students whose Personal Projects went on display at the Exhibition on Thursday.  There were some outstanding creative projects which were a great credit to their owners.  Warmest thanks also to all staff , parents and students who came to the Opening Breakfast or saw the projects during the day.

The John XXIII Year 8 Ethics Olympiad team performed superbly last Monday to finish in fifth place in Western Australia out of the 21 competing teams, a terrific effort in our first involvement in this prestigious event.  Congratulations  to team members Meg Derbyshire, Asha Paton, Sky Pineda Beasley, Meg Cleary and Max Watt who represented the college with distinction.

The International Debating team will complete the final qualifying round this week. After excellent victories in the fist two rounds we lost narrowly to Kambala in round 3, but could still qualify for the finals with a victory in round four on Friday.

Finally, we have nominated two Year 7 teams for the 2020 Brainways/UWA Quest Competition which takes place over two days this coming Thursday and Friday.  Best wishes to Amelia Watts, Elsie Samson, David Gardner, Caleb Faulkner Hill, Austin Vujcich and Khyan Mann who will be representing the College.
