AFL Review

AFL have recently released a statement saying that an idea has been put forward to reduce the time in each quarter but have 5 extra games in the Home & Away season. 

We believe that Gillon Mclaughlin has made the right decision to make the general public aware of this because it is a good idea and should go ahead. If this were to go ahead it would be great because we wouldn’t really notice that the games were shorter whereas we would notice if there were a whole 5 more games. We also think that this is a great idea because it gives the middle teams for that season more chances of getting into finals towards the end of the season. 

There will also be more midfield action per game which will result in lower scoring games which depending on what way you look at it is great. You will also be able to see the players training pay off because that is what they train for, they train for fitness so watching them run up and down the field will show who stands out best. 

Games will also not go for as long so when kids go to a night game with there family they will be able to probably watch the whole game and not have it end at 10 o’clock each time. That should also make the AFL more money because more people will buy memberships and family passes.

The officials haven’t actually made this a certainty for the future but with enough people wanting it to happen it should be a move that they make in the not too distant future.
