The world of Miss McLachlan

.What is your favourite hobby and when did you start doing it?    I love cooking and have been doing it since I was very young. My Grandma’s kitchen was the first place I was inspired and I would have been about 3 year’s old. Other hobbies include yoga, boxing, dogs, reading and films.

·  What would be your goals for this year?

Trying to make remote learning as fun as possible! My personal goal is to expand my vegie garden which is really going well.

·  Do you have a favourite class and why?

Not really. I’ve certainly had some outstanding classes in my time! This year all of my classes have been amazing so it’s impossible to pick a favourite.

·  If you weren’t a teacher what would be your job?

I would love to become a writer one day. I’m working on a novel so hopefully I can become the next J.K. Rowling. Otherwise, maybe a chef because I do love cooking.

Why do you work at a high school and not a primary school?

I really love working with teenagers! I also quite enjoy teaching my specialist subjects, English and History, and you don’t get that opportunity to specialise when you’re a Primary teacher.

.Where were you born?

I was born in Chelsea, Victoria. There used to be an actual hospital there and my family lived around the corner. One of our dogs used to get out and sit under Mum’s window!

·  What is one thing not many people know about you?

I lived in London for a while in my 20s. I loved backpacking around Europe and it was so interesting teaching in London schools.

·  What is your dogs name and what type of personality does she have?

Pepper. She is very outgoing and loves to play. Even in the middle of winter you can’t keep her out of the water when we go to the beach.

·  How long have you taught at Mount Eliza Secondary College?

This is my 3rd year at Mt. Eliza.
