Sports Update
Water Awareness
Our Water Awareness sessions first week back were a huge success. This is in most part due to our amazing qualified Learn to Swim Instructors (Danielle Pollard, Simone Kerr, Keith Watts, Veronica McNamara, Sue Anderson, Melissa Key, Karen Fletcher and Bec Willis) and our wonderful parent volunteers (Donna McAllister, Anna Vilella, Nicole Watson, Julie Watson and Michelle Lawler) who helped our instructors. The students thoroughly enjoyed their sessions and learnt some essential water safety skills.
Swimming Carnival
Monday the 13th February, we will hold our annual swimming carnival for Years 1-6. We look forward to a great day of participation, sportsmanship and camaraderie. Thank you in advance to all the parents who have volunteered their time for the day.
Students are to wear their sports uniform. If they have a shirt in their house colour (Mackillop - yellow, Penola - red, Fitzroy - blue) they are also welcome to wear this. Sunscreen and a broad brimmed hat (school hat) is essential.
The Lion’s Van will be operating on the day for you to purchase steak and sausage sandwiches, hot chips and drinks.
Kindergarten
Wednesday the 15th February we will hold a modified ‘Tadpoles Carnival’ at school run by the teachers and House Captains. Kinder students will be assisted by their Year 6 Buddies when competing in these events. The results on the day will contribute to the overall House Point Score from the Swimming Carnival. Parents are most welcome to come and watch their child. There will be more information about this sent home with your child closer to the date.
Polding Basketball Trials
Good luck to Ella Bruce and Ella Teinaki who are competing at the Polding Basketball Trials on Friday the 10th February in Lismore. We know they will give it their all.
