Wellbeing and Engagement

What is Wellbeing?

Wellbeing can be defined as a combination of a person's physical, mental, emotional and social health. Community is at the heart of student wellbeing at Newlands Primary School. It is the centre of our school culture, and is built on the firm belief that everyone belongs and that everyone has something valuable to contribute. At Newlands Primary School we work hard to ensure that our students, families and staff feel connected to the NPS community.

Support starting school

Do you require support to assist you with the demands coming back to or beginning school brings?

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you need assistance in any way. I can be contacted through Sentral or by emailing the school using the school email address with attention to contact me included in the subject of the email.

Newlands School Values

Have you wondered what is on the lanyards that all teachers at Newlands wear?

A matrix has been created using each school value. The information on the matrix outlines the expectations we have for student behaviour and engagement. The matrices are used by teachers as a reference tool when speaking to groups or individual students to reinforce engagement, learning and positive interactions with others.

The use of the matrix ensures that students are hearing a consistent message from everyone they come in contact with during their day at school.
