Welcome

The term has started smoothly with all grades and teachers busily getting to know one another, reacquainting with old friends, and welcoming new students to their classrooms. We look forward to seeing our new 2023 Foundation students starting on Monday.

We ask parents of Foundation students to meet their teacher outside their child’s classroom and not come into the room until the teacher has invited students in.

OOSHC curriculum day

Friday 10th February

OOSH will be available to families registered as permanent users of the service. Please make sure you pre-book your request.

New Staff

We welcome our new staff to Newlands – Katherine [F/1], Kate [F/1], Joel [Music], Simon [2/3], Courtney [2/3], Jillian [OOSH Coordinator], Bede [OOSH assistant], Dannielle [OOSH assistant]. We have certainly grown as a school now, with 18 classes across the school.

Construction Update.

The foundation work for the gymnasium and the learning worlds has now been completed. The next stage will be the foundations for the administration building, which should be completed in the next couple of weeks.

Voluntary Fees

We thank the many families who have paid their voluntary contributions this year. These additional funds are vital to schools and support us in supporting our STEAM, Arts and Physical Education programs. For those who wish to contribute, we are still accepting financial contributions; there is no closing date to contribute funds to the school.

Parent Ebikes and Bike Parking

A big thank you to the parents who parked their bikes in the old staff park this week. We would encourage parents to use this space while it’s available.

Reminders

Foundation students start Monday, 6th February.

Curriculum Day - Next Friday, 10th February. Students are at school if booked into OOSH for the day.
