Student Achievements

Kalinda Kids shine!

Every day Kalinda kids are achieving great things in their classroom and yard, but we know that outside of school they are kicking goals as well (literally and figuratively)!

If your student has an achievement that you would like to share please send to Mrs. Hopkins so that we can celebrate them in the newsletter! Whether it is a sporting achievement, Karate grade, Cub badge or amazing new skill - we want to share it with our community.

Chiara has been busy!

Submitted by : Martina (Chiara's Mum)

On the school holidays, Chiara (Grade 2) decided she wanted to raise money for a charity by holding a lemonade stand on our street. She chose the World Wildlife Fund as her charity because she loves animals and doesn't want to see them go extinct.

We helped her source the lemons from a family friend who has an enormous lemon tree. Chiara squeezed the dozens of lemons and together we made the sugar syrup to give the lemonade some sweetness. We borrowed the stand, and Chiara chose paper cups because they could be recycled. She was very excited and asked me to spread the word to family and friends who lived locally.

It was a very successful event. Chiara raised $120 for WWF, mostly from sales on the day and also a few generous donations made by those who couldn't come and buy lemonade on the day.

Chiara's words: "I chose WWF because I really like helping endangered animals and I want to help the population of animals grow big again. And I thought it would be nice of me to raise money to give to WWF to help endangered animals. I think the lemonade stand was a success, and I felt really good doing it. And it was so fun to have some of my friends come and buy lemonade!"
