CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS

Last Wednesday was our first Ripper Families meeting and the hot topic of discussion was our focus on the Centenary celebrations we will hold in Term 4.

With this in mind the Ripper Families team has decided that we will have a few smaller scale activities in Terms 2 & 3, as we will be asking our school community to focus a lot of their energy on making sure our 100-year celebration is the best it can be.

The success of such an event relies heavily on community participation and this is where all of you come in. We have planned the big picture of what we want our centenary celebration to look like but we will need many volunteers to get this off the ground. It is really simple, without help from the wider school community the celebration will not be able to go ahead. Not only is it important for us to come together as a community, particularly after the past 2 years, and celebrate our small school it is also a vital event for fundraising to make upgrades to school and purchase resources for our children.

We have planned a week long centenary celebration kicking off with the opening of our 100 years of Ripponlea exhibition and closing with our biennial school fete.

Over the next few weeks as Ripper Families fine-tunes the plans for our celebration we will be putting out calls for volunteers. Any amount of time you have can make a difference so please think about pitching in and helping out. There will be a range of jobs and no doubt something to suit everyone’s skill set. Let’s make this the best celebration Ripponlea has ever seen!

Thanks,

Ripper Families
