PARKING INFRIGEMENTS IN CARRINGTON GROVE

We’ve heard a rumour that network schools are being blitzed by parking inspectors. Whether true or not, please note a few rules that apply in Carrington Grove.

Kiss and Go - zones are for where a vehicle can be stopped for up to 2 minutes while children safely exit/enter the vehicle. The driver must remain within three metres of the vehicle.

Disability Parking – a half-hour zone is adjacent to the main entrance. Only users with a valid Category 1 Disabled Parking Permit may use this area between 8am and 4pm on school days.

No U-Turns between 8-9.30am and 2.30-4pm.

Please also remember to park vehicles clear of driveways, school crossings and to allow other vehicle users to park and depart easily and safely.

ENROLMENTS OPEN FOR 2023

Let’s spread the good word and let our neighbours know 'why our little school is such a big hit'. We welcome prospective families to peruse our website and book a school tour.

Our tour schedule is available for the entire year, whether booking a group tour or a private tour with the principal.

We have already started planning a range of activities with our local kinders. This term our teachers will present an information session to support a successful start in Foundation 2023 at RPS.

All future families are welcome, so please use this flyer to share with friends and families in our local community who might have a child starting school in 2023 or beyond.

To our existing families who have children starting school next year, please collect your enrolment form from Jac in the office or alternatively download one off the website.

TRIPLE P- POSITIVE PARENTING PROGRAM

Since 2020, the Triple P – Positive Parenting Program has been providing a range of supports to families in Victoria. These are self-paced learning modules on a range of topics to support our children. They have recently released a program to help children learn to manage and reduce anxious feelings. We know how difficult it has been to source additional mental health and wellbeing services.

The link below might be a very good start for:

  • Online support for parents of anxious kids (6-14 years)
  • Find out the ‘why’ and ‘how’ of child and teen anxiety
  • Learn more about what’s helpful and what can accidentally add to anxiety
  • Start applying new strategies immediately
  • New online program based on proven principles
  • Improve your child’s emotional wellbeing in the long term
  • Reduce your own stress too!

SEESAW CURRICULUM & YEAR LEVEL UPDATES

We often receive feedback from our families expressing a desire to know and understand what their children are learning across specific areas of the curriculum. Each fortnight our teaching teams launch a fortnightly blog/news blast or mini newsletter via Seesaw that highlights specific learning in literacy, numeracy, personal and social capabilities as well as inquiry-based concepts.

Please take the opportunity to read these fortnightly updates to develop a better understanding of how we continue to build the skills and knowledge of our students across the curriculum.  This Friday we release the first curriculum update of the term.

Samples from last term if you missed these.
