Principal's Report

It is safe to say that this has been a term full of challenges but also full of many successes.

It continues to be unprecedented times for us all, both collectively and individually. The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has taken us into the most difficult of times – as individuals, in our communities and as a society over the past two years.

The term still has been a busy one for the College, with many events and activities being at the core of our work with our school community. All events helped send a clear message that high expectations are set for all students and that the partnership between school and home is extremely important to help support each student. Covid-19 has added some complexity to our work, but thankfully we were able to stay open and continue this work.

Parent, Teacher, Student Interviews

Parent, Teacher, and Student Interviews at this stage are still planned to be conducted in the first week of next term, on Thursday 28th April 2022.  I encourage all parents to make a time to read their child’s report and then make a time to meet with your child's teachers face to face, using our online Compass booking system, to discuss their progress. Bookings are now open and able to be made.

Please contact the school if you have any difficulties.

Thank you to our retiring Assistant Principal, David Veale

I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank and acknowledge our retiring Assistant Principal, David Veale.

After 40 years of service to our network and to state education David will be retiring at the beginning of Term 2.

David joined Kurunjang SC at the start 2012, after working for 30 years in Brimbank, and has made an enormous contribution to the College in that time.

I want to publicly acknowledge this enormous contribution. In particular, I wish to acknowledge his professionalism, integrity, honesty, and his willingness to make all decisions student centred. I have always been in absolute awe of David’s commitment of keeping the student’s best interest at heart at all times.

I know I speak on all of your behalf when I congratulate David and thank him for his enormous contribution to our school. We wish him well as he transitions to retirement.

Thank you to all the staff of Kurunjang SC

I want to take a moment to thank and acknowledge the incredible work that our teachers, school leaders and support staff, have contributed in the last term in supporting the College and its students and families.

Their efforts in these challenging times have been outstanding and are greatly appreciated by all.

Finally, to all our school community I hope you enjoy a well-earned rest over the break.

Thank you once again,

John Mitsinikos

College Principal
