School Profile

Echuca College offers a comprehensive and innovative curriculum to all students, allowing them to pursue pathways into further study, training, apprenticeships and employment. The Echuca College Council, parents, teachers and students are committed to improving the learning experiences of every student at the College in a safe and caring environment. The end result is a College that provides an education for now and for the future, as students develop the skills to take up opportunities to succeed in life.

Excitingly from the very beginning, the community has demonstrated its support and confidence in the Echuca College vision. There has been great support for our transition program, through to the development of a range of extra-curricular excursions and tours. The immediate take up of new studies at Years 11 and 12 in Media, Dance, Music, Drama, VCAL and VET certificates confirmed the College Council’s commitment to expanding opportunities for students, whilst building on strong Science, Technology, Arts and academic traditions.

Domain areas within our curriculum, Maths, Science, English, Humanities, LOTE, Health and Physical Education, Arts and Technology, have access to new state of the art facilities. Our Learning Neighbourhoods and flexible learning spaces in Maths/Science, Technology and Visual Performing Arts have been designed to enable students and teachers to work more collaboratively. Students have great individualised tuition and this is promoted through the provision for ‘state of the art’ technology.

Whilst the majority of students come from the immediate rural cities of Echuca-Moama, approximately 30% travel along 20+ bus routes, some travelling an hour each way to access the education provided. The strong support and collaboration of our partner primary schools have ensured a seamless transition program for junior students to secondary education.
