We Remember...

Unlike that day so long ago, when our troops arrived on the beach to a horror we can't imagine, ANZAC Day 2022 saw a glorious, clear morning of sunshine, as we took time to remember our fallen and returned service men and women.
On such a special day, it was an honour for students to be involved and lead future generations in paying our respects to past and present Defence personnel. It was extremely encouraging to see many of our students partaking in ANZAC services across the region.
School Principal Karl Schier and School Leaders Willow Parker and Laura Mc Linden were alongside many BSC students at the Beaufort service, laying a wreath on behalf of Beaufort Secondary College. Meanwhile, Teacher Evan Green, School Captain Ethan Page, Sport's Captain Ethan Keenan and Year 8 student Adeline Corbett attended the Skipton service to pay their respects.
BSC Commemorations...
Our Yr. 7 students commemorated the day a little early, baking ANZAC biscuits at the close of Term 1. The golden brown, delicious morsels filled the BSC Food Tech kitchen with a sweet syrupy aroma as the excited cooks enjoyed the spoils of their labour.
To culminate our ANZAC Day tributes, prior to finishing Term 1, students had the opportunity to craft their own poppies which would then be displayed on the remembrance board at our annual ANZAC Assembly. This was held in the Drama Centre on Friday 29th April and allowed students time to reflect and appreciate the sacrifices made by those who have fought for our country.
Hosted by our School Captains and enhanced with ANZAC stories retold by students, the event was an inspiring and heartfelt way to conclude ANZAC week.
All students are to be commended for their behaviour and their commitment to remembering our ANZAC's.
