Mindfulness

The Dental Health Van is visiting St Agnes: Term 2 June 13th to  June17th 

Please mark your calendars that in Term 2 Week 8 (13th-17th June) the Australian Dental Health Van will be back visiting St Agnes’. 

 

This week your child will be bringing home a form with information from the Dental Health Van. If you would like your child to have a dental checkup please complete the form and return it to your classroom teacher or the office by next week Monday 4th April. 

If you do not receive a form or misplace it, please come to the office and pick up an extra form.

The last few weeks teachers have been introducing Mindfulness into our classrooms. Over the coming weeks I will be sharing some of the exercises we do in the classroom with you in the newsletter.

 

The first mindfulness exercise we have introduced in our classrooms is called  'Breathing Buddies' . We have been using stones, toys and bean bags as our "buddies". Students place their buddy on their stomach and notice their buddy go up and down as they breathe in and out. 

This is a fantastic short exercise that can be done to regulate our breathing and help us all focus. Feel free to try it at home too.
