DOLPHIN RESEARCH INSTITUTE VISIT

Last Monday, we had Mandy from the Dolphin Research Institute visit the Year 5 students. St Agnes' are joining the 'i sea i care' schools program this year and we are very excited to offer this opportunity to some selected Year 5 students as well as our two Year 6 Environmental Captains. The students chosen will become 'ambassadors' and will attend a one day workshop each term along with students from many other schools, to learn more about things we can do to look after our local environment with a particular focus on Port Phillip Bay.

We will announce our new 'i sea i care' team very soon.

CLEAN UP OUR COMMUNITY DAY

On Friday the 18th of March, each year level went out to some different destinations to clean up rubbish. The Environmental Captains, Patricia and Jara, were inspired by Clean Up Australia Day which is held on the first Sunday of March every year. “We wanted to do that as a school, so we booked a date on the 18th of March to clean up our community,” explained Patricia. Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 went to Peterson Street Reserve. Year 3 and 4 went to Basterfield Park. And Year 5 and 6 went to the area around Highett shops. Each year level collected a lot of rubbish from our streets and parks. “It was lovely to be able to see our community clean once again.” Jara declared.
