Principal's News

All students attending St Louis de Montfort's Aspendale have the right to feel safe. The care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a fundamental responsibility of all within our school.

Dear Families

We have finally reached the end of a long but wonderful Term 1. Thank you all for your support and understanding, as we have started to open up the school but still have some covid expectations.

Thank you to the parents who attended the Easter Bonnet Parade and the Junior Athletic's carnival today, it was a great day and so lovely to see so many parents on site.

Thank you to Mr Dean Andrew our new PE teacher for organising such a energetic carnival for all our P-2 students. Thank you to the teachers for their support and to the Yr 6 sport leaders for their participation and help today.

COVID plan

RAT's will be distributed again next term to all students to cover the first 4 weeks of Term 2. It is still expected that all students will be tested  twice a week during the  first 4 weeks of the term. Masks for Yr 3-6 students and staff will still be in place for the beginning of Term 2.

The school is require to see all visitors/parents who are not volunteering, their  vaccination certificate for double vaccination. For parents who are working/volunteering we will need to see evidence of triple vaccination.

Positive Start Initiative

St Louis is eligible for the State Government's Positive Start Initiative. This has meant that we can offer the Yr 4 students a free camp in Term 3 to Silvan. It will be an adventure camp. Yr 5's are also going on another camp, in Term 2 to Beechworth. Monday 6-Thursday 9 September. The camp will enhance the students' study in Gold and Australian history.

We are still looking into a free Yr 6 camp.

New uniform

As per previous newsletters, in Term 2 we will be selling the new winter polo tops as we run out of stock in the long sleeve red polo tops.

We have started to sell the new sport tops as we run out of sizes in the coloured sport tops.

The new uniform will not be compulsory until the start of 2024.

We have a very large stock of coloured sport tops still available, in many sizes. These coloured sport tops will be available for purchase for $15, and can be worn for the next 20 months.

St Louis Feast Day

The first day back in Term 2, Tuesday 26 April, we will be celebrating St Louis de Montfort's Feast Day. We will begin the day with mass. Then the students will be involved in sport activities at Brown's Reserve throughout the day. A sausage sizzle and drink  will be provided for all students on the day.

I wish you all a very Happy Easter and I hope you enjoy your holidays and stay well.

Kind regards

Carmel Stutterd
