Year 7 and Year 8 Geography

Earlier this week, all Year 7 and Year 8 classes participated in a walking excursion to Pier Street as part of their Geography units of work. Whilst on their walking excursion, students had to collect and record relevant data linked to either Place and Liveability or Urbanisation, and complete a reflection on how liveable Altona is, or the impact of urbanisation on Altona.

The Year 7 students exploring Place and Liveability recorded data around the number of entertainment and recreational facilities, healthcare and transportation options.

The Year 8 students exploring Urbanisation recorded data on the different types of housing, and the quantity of these houses. They also looked at number and variety of transportation and employment opportunities.

Volleyball Report

Over the course of Term 1 we had 7 Volleyball teams go and compete at the Hobsons Bay Divisions. We had some great results with 5 of the 7 teams winning through to the Western Metro Regions. We would like to congratulate all 7 teams on their efforts in training and the competition.

A huge congratulations to the Senior boys who also won the Summer Lightening Competition, where they beat the Western Region Volleyball Div 1 team which is a fantastic effort!

Goodluck to the Senior Boys, Intermediate boys, Year 8 girls and Year 7 boys and girl teams!
