Bright Futures with ICT and Digital Technologies

There is no doubt the last 2 years have thrown many challenges our way and we are so proud of the adaptability and resilience of our amazing students, staff and community.  Together we’ve been exposed to the endless potential in our teaching and learning, so let’s not stop now.

It’s time to look to the future and build upon our new and enhanced skills and capabilities. Our students adapted to the online Google Classroom ‘like a duck to water’ proving their potential and thirst for learning. It is now our job to ensure that opportunities for exponential growth is maintained and developed by opening a technological ‘window to the real world’.

If nothing else the past 2 years has reinforced that technology is an integral and essential part of our modern every day and future life. We are committed to ensuring our students have ongoing and increased focus on the authentic use of digital technologies within their learning. Our team is currently exploring and reviewing the use of digital technologies at Weeden Heights to ensure they become one of many tools on hand to enhance and engage our students in their learning. Our goal is to continue to build upon the current dedicated ICT component of the curriculum as well as opening a technological ‘window to the real world’ by embedding the use of devices and transferring skills across all curriculum areas.

Throughout the remainder of this year we will report to you and keep the community informed as our vision and evolving pedagogy materialises. We are excited at the potential for an even brighter future at Weeden Heights.
