Upcoming Fortnight

In reading sessions this fortnight, we will be focusing on 'monitor and self-correct errors' and 'use pronunciation cues'. Accuracy and fluency strategies are super important when reading, they can help students to better understand what they are reading as well as how the author intended it to be read. This fortnight we are also starting our Fountas and Pinnell testing with students as a mid-year check in to see where they are up to and what their future goals might be.

We will have a focus on developing ideas during our writing sessions this fortnight. We will also continue to look at persuasive writing as part of the lead up to our Cold Write assessment piece. Each student will be asked to put together a persuasive piece of writing as part of this assessment in Week 4.

In Mathematics, we will begin our unit on Multiplication and Division. The students completed a pre-test at the end of last term and will continue to complete learning activities best suited to their level.
