Respectful Relationships

In response to the Royal Commission into Family Violence, Corpus Christi Kingsville is committed to promoting and embedding Respectful Relationships and gender equality into our school’s ethos, vision and values. In our school the focus is on treating everyone with respect and dignity in the hope of creating real and lasting change in the lives of our students, staff, families and the wider school community.

Below is an overview of the topics and units that each Learning Community will be exploring throughout Term 2:

Prep -  Understanding and managing emotions

Year 1/2 - Building and strengthening friendships, positive relationships and respect

Year 3/4 - Our strengths, understanding and coping with stress, individual identity and positive relationships

Year 5/6 -  Personal strengths, stress management and seeking help

Year 5/6 Update

This week the Year 5/6 students began a new unit as part of the Respectful Relationships program. In this unit, we will be exploring personal strengths. In our first session the students looked at the difference between talents and character strengths, and then identified the character strengths they admire or value in others.

The students completed an activity where they identified various character strengths and situations in which they might be demonstrated.

Active April

With less than two weeks to go, let's continue to make a huge effort to be more active in our daily lives. The staff team is doing great, tracking over 80 hours of physical activity.

The students have tracked almost 180 hours in total and are still working hard to be active for 30 minutes a day.

A big shout out to the Feely family! Alison, Jade and Violet are currently sitting at a total of 73 hours!! Keep up the great work girls!

Thank you to everyone, both staff and students, that are getting involved and promoting a more active school community.
