Digital Technologies and Design & Technologies at

St. Peter’s College

Technology as a subject encompasses a wide variety of unique specialty areas, each providing students with invaluable skills for success in the 21st Century. Technology subjects at St. Peter’s College focus on two major stands of education:

Design & Technologies focus on subjects including Product Design, Food Technology, Basic Construction, Fast Fashion, Textile Design, Metal Fabrication, Certificate II in Building & Construction, Certificate II in Engineering, VCE Food Studies and VCE Product Design & Technology: Textiles or Wood.

Digital Technologies focus on subjects including Year 7 Digital Technologies, Game On, Web Publishing, Robotic Vehicle Systems, Certificate II in Electrotechnology, Certificate III in Information, Digital Media & Technology, VCE Applies Computing & Data Analytics and VCE Systems Engineering.

Our highly dedicated and experienced staff have been working really hard to develop a student centric, active learning program for all the subjects across both strands with a focus on developing 21st Century skills like Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Communication, Creativity and Problem Solving. Students in the junior years get to sample a cross section of subjects from both the Digital Technologies and Design & Technologies so that they can make an informed decision when selecting the various subjects offered to senior students.

We are very excited to welcome some new staff to the Technology Faculty; Andrew Crawford who is teaching VET Building and Construction and Year 10 Religion at the Cranbourne Campus.

Tishan Lokuga who is teaching Year 7 Digital Technologies, Year 7 Mathematics, VCE Biology and Year 10 Youth Ministry, Mervin Wakefeild who is Teaching Year 9 & 10 Product Design, Year 9 Basic Construction, Year 10 Metal Fabrication and Year 8 Integrated Learning, Lighia David who is teaching Year 9 Game on and Jeannette Valencia who is teaching Year 8 Food Technology, Year 9 Food Fundamentals, and Year 10 Food in Context at the Clyde North Campus.

We look forward to working with all of our students to engage them in their learning and provide every opportunity for them to participate in the vast array of subjects and areas of study offered under the Technology Faculty banner.
